Song Phuong - Amazing village inside Hanoi

Located in the rural area of Hanoi, just about 20 km to the south-west of the capital, Song Phuong village is very famous for its beauty as well as for many green garden and clean vegetable field. All of the products here are made by the local people with the total area of more than 20,000m². Most of the area is covered by various kinds of fruits and vegetables like orange, grapefruit, mango, lychee… Normally, in the middle of the garden, there usually has a small house for some special events and performance; it is also the place for restore their products during the whole harvests. Many tourists come there and they were really impressed by the knowledge they got. They have chance to experience the life there with some class of growing vegetables and fruits. Song Phuong village is very famous for the quality of their products. Visiting this village, we can enjoy the fresh atmosphere as well as enjoy many fantastic landscapes that is the feature of Vietnamese traditional village.

Nowadays, Song Phuong is improving itself to attract more and more tourists. Each year, there are about 10,000 visitors come to visit it. Currently, this village has many modern equipment like swimming pools for kids, the house of tennis and billiards, outside stage for special events. It is becoming a real eco-center of Hanoi.

Another special thing of this village is the pagoda with ancient architecture. Song Phuong has two big pagodas: Middle pagoda and Upper pagoda. The middle pagoda has another name is Phuong Tien Tu or Phuong Tien Pagoda. It is the place to worship the bodhisattva. The Upper pagoda is also used to worship Bodhisattva. Besides the pagodas, it is also well-known for a beautiful and ancient temple. However, because of the war, the main part of the temple was destroyed and later it was rebuilt to show respect to the God and ancestors.

 The first thing that we can easily see when visiting this village is the Temple with many ancient banyan trees. It is a very beautiful temple with unique architecture.

Not really far from the temple is the Upper pagoda, the center religion of the village. After being rebuilt, the new pagoda is much more modern but it still keeps the ancient beauty with the bell tower, tower of relics and many statues inside. Upper pagoda is an example for unique structure of pagoda and temple in the North of Vietnam.

The most interesting that attract many tourists come to visit Song Phuong village is the garden of clean vegetables. Coming there, they will have chances to see themselves the way the local people grow clean vegetables. No toxic chemicals are allowed to use to protect the products here. What they use are very clean and friendly to the environment. That is the reason why a lot of people want to buy the products there to ensure the quality and protect their health also.
